Selfish

So selfishness is something that I have been dealing with lately. I have seen how it can be very beneficial for someone who is constantly giving to others and sacrificing themselves. For example many of you, my friends are parents or are becoming parents and that entails a lot of giving to a little person that needs you at all times, which is awesome, amazing stuff. I have seen however, that people begin to lose themselves and their relationships focusing solely on their children. So, I say to all new parents and old remember to be selfish and take time out to for yourself so that when your children are gone you know who you are.

Now there is another side of selfish that I have seen that I just don't like. I have seen some friends and exes take and take and take and not realize that they are draining the people around them. Then when it is brought to their attention they become angry. What is up with that? I mean there are people in this world that need them, but they are so absorbed in themselves that they don't see the other people that are truely in need of their love and support. It is hard to watch and not just cuss out those people but as an adult I realize that I can't save everyone and that it is important that people speak up for themselves. I just wish other people were not so selfish and would see that they are needed.

Or maybe they are too selfish to care that they are needed.
